Park Hill neighborhood is not only called the Denver's Urban Forest, and features spectacular architecture and diversity, it is also home to an exceptional garden tour called the Park Hill Garden Walk. This year's event is June 16th from 10 am to 4 pm. 12 gardens are on this year's Walk and feature a variety from xeriscaping to family friendly gardens. Gardeners are passionate about what they do and sharing their gardens is like exhibiting their artwork. Park Hill gardeners are particularly enthusiastic to share their successes and trials with the challenging climate in which we live.
On this year's Walk not only will you find inspiration, but a stroll along the route will embrace you in one of the best neighborhoods in Colorado. The tree lined streets, mixed use areas, diverse people, local businesses and respendid homes make this not only a wonderful activity to do on a summer Saturday but will enrich your experience.
Many gardens feature local artists displaying their work or painting en plein air. Wine tasting, food and drink can be found also along the Walk. Each gardener will not only be on hand to share their experience and their passion, but will have special and unique plants labeled for visitors so bring paper and pencil.
Pick up a copy of The Greater Park Hill newspaper and find a scavenger hunt to try while you tour. Tickets are on sale June 1 at www.parkhillgardenwalk.blogspot.com and are $13.00 in advance. The day of the Walk tickets are $15.00. You can also find tickets at the Park Hill Library at Dahlia and Montview, or Moss Pink on 23rd.
