Want to Volunteer?

Volunteers are what make the Park Hill Garden Walk work. For one thing, the Garden Walk committee is made up of all volunteers. We begin in August of the previous year, sorting through the comments, deciding on what works and what we want to try differently. A number of people give a lot of their time and talents to the Garden Walk.

Another group of volunteers which makes it possible are those that work at each garden throughout the day, taking tickets, giving directions and general helping. Normally we like to have two volunteers in the morning shift which is 10-1 and two more for the afternoon shift of 1-4. Tables and chairs are provided for these ticket taker volunteers. Volunteers find it a great annual event to catch up with neighbors, distant friends and meet new ones.

Volunteers are invited to the after-party hosted at the GPHC Garden at 2823 Fairfax. They also receive two free tickets and a lovely thank you gift. We have some returning year after year having started at the first garden walk.

We have over 10,000 homes in park Hill. Finding 60 people from those homes shouldn't be difficult when it is something that not only fun but helps out their own community food bank. If you're thinking about it or have always wanted to but didn't quite make the effort, try it this year! It takes volunteers to make a great Garden Walk!

Contact the Park Hill Garden Walk Chairperson: Angelia McLean at angelia1964@gmail.com to sign up for a shift or find out how you can get involved. See you in the garden!
